Why We Are Green:
Because we choose to be so! The environmental bandwagon is not yet fully-loaded, or rolling at optimum speed. Showpiece’s products and participation in the movement to improve the condition of our planet introduces another shade of green to the marketplace.
We also want to work with companies and affiliates with similar ideals to create a network of environmentally conscious suppliers to make the end-user’s buying experience as simple as possible.
The principals of Showpiece bring over 30 combined years of experience in the creation, management and marketing of custom fabrication projects. With extensive positive feedback from clients and a solid reputation in the industry, our founders know that producing an environmentally friendly product and working with vendors with the same goals allows us to continue to deliver premier customer service with special attention to craftsmanship and quality.

CEO, Lia Lucero has over 15 years of experience in various entrepreneurial environments including the founding of Showpiece Enterprises in 2003, a company specializing in integrated marketing through creating alliances between corporations and non-profit organizations. She has also created many customized marketing programs targeting specific markets in a variety of industries that have resulted in increased market share and brand awareness for her clients. Lia is an expert in selling products and services with a record of building and retaining effective account management teams and developing profitable client relationships.
She pursued "greening" Showpiece after learning that the Convention industry is second only to Construction in the amount of waste generated from producing events. There had to be a better way to stage events in a more responsible manner. She quickly realized that with so many environmentally sustainable materials available, there is simply no excuse to not incorporate Green components into every live event. Meeting planners don’t have to compromise durability or beauty to produce high-impact events and employ sound environmental practices. Lia aims to be a leader in the movement to greenify the Conference industry and is confident that Green events will soon be the rule and not the exception.

Chief Operating Officer, Joel Smith started in the exhibit and design field 16 years ago in Atlanta Ga. He worked on the floor at a major exhibit design company named TTE Scenic Studio. While at TTE (Total Technical Excellence), he was the lead metal fabricator, producing substructures for exhibit and event components. Some of the larger clients were Nike, Pontiac, Mercedes Benz and Holiday Inn. He also produced many components for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta’s Coca-Cola City. Once he departed from TTE, he was a freelance fabricator for many theme bars and restaurants, providing furniture and permanent décor components. He also worked with Six Flags Amusement Parks producing scenery for the Batman Theme parks. This gave Joel the means to start his own venture: "Metal Smith", where he created custom metal furniture and themed components for theater, tradeshows and museum exhibits.
Joel quickly learned the ropes of running his own business and relocated to Washington D.C. in 2000. He was hired as the Production Manager for Explus Incorporated; a leading museum and trade show design/production company. He has managed the exhibit production for a long list of Museum galleries across the nation including The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. He managed the fabrication of galleries with budgets of $4M and managed the production crews of around 50 craftsmen. He was solely responsible for the daily activities of the craftsmen in the facility and at onsite locations across the country. After five years at Explus, he was then given the opportunity of Director of Operations for Atlantic Skyline.
